This is about the famous barefoot Messi assist. Yet another reason, if you needed one, to love Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. In the El Clasico match versus Real Madrid Messi lost his shoe after racing past Marcelo but still was able to cut the ball back to Aleix Vidal for Barcelona’s third goal. How many shoes does Messi need to wear, just one! Maybe that would make it more fair actually, if Messi had to wear just one boot. We all know of course that Messi really only uses his left foot when he plays, but now he’s playing and assisting with one shoe.
[yotuwp type=”videos” id=”4DVGslDbfY8″ ] Look who’s trying to stop Messi here too….yes, that’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who had to start playing a bit more defense, or try to, once Real Madrid were down to ten men in the second half. So yeah, now Messi can create goal scoring chances wearing just one boot. Is Ronaldo going to try to top this? Maybe Ronaldo will beat a player and then drop his shoe just to top Messi! The good thing for Messi was that it was his right boot that came off and not his favored left boot. Really, it’s just amazing what Messi continues to do in La Liga and it’s a joy to watch him play. |
