Raphinha scores again for Barcelona. It is his 12 goal of the year for Barcelona. It’s really a beautiful goal. The way he comes back to the top of the box to set up for the shot.
Moreover, it is impressive how Raphinha knows the pass from Jules Koundé is going to find him. For Barcelona, this must be like a set play or pattern of play they follow. As in, someone always moving towards the top of the box if it’s too crowded near the goal box. And it is a brilliant cut back pass by Koundé.
Overall, Raphinha strikes the soccer ball with the perfect amount of pace. The soccer ball almost hovers just off the ground the entire time before it goes in.
Funny enough, it goes go through the Red Star Belgrade defenders’ legs as he charges towards Raphinha and attempts to put his arms behind his back to avoid a handball.
The Raphinha goal helped Barcelona win 5-2 win at Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
Two players from Barcelona were nominated for the Ballon d’Or award, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal, surely Raphinha should have been on that list.
However, if Raphinha keeps scoring goals like this and playing so well, he might just win the Ballon d’Or award next year. And don’t forget, he can score from free kicks too.

It is amazing to think that he was at Leeds United just a few years ago.
Finally, while former Barcelona manager Xavi maybe didn’t look on him as a top level or world class player, new manager Hansi Flick realizes the quality he has in Raphinha.
