Ronaldinho Goal Against Atalanta

Will Beckham return to AC Milan and save their season? Imagine, Beckham helps the LA Galaxy win the MLS Cup and then helps steer AC Milan back to the top of the Serie A table. It could happen. Then, after that he helps lead England to the World Cup finals. You never know. What do you call that book? Maybe the Beckham Miracle.

For now though, it is Ronaldinho who is the savior for the struggling Italian side. It was his goal that gave AC Milan a point after he took a wonderful Nesta chip off his chest and toe poked the ball into the net on the volley. Ronaldinho came on in the second half when AC Milan were a man up after Ivan Radovanovic was sent off with two yellow cards. Here’s the Ronaldinho goal against Atalanta.

Really though, it is Leonardo who must be the most thankful for the Brazilian’s goal. The AC Milan coach is desperate these days. His job is hanging by the thread of a Rossoneri scarf. They lost mid week to FC Zurich in the Champions League and couldn’t endure another lost, especially when they were a man up for the entire second half.

I think the fans would have had Leonardo’s head had they lost. There’s talk that Marco Van Basten might be his replacement. To be fair though, AC Milan hit the post not once but three or four times in the game versus FC Zurich, with Zambrotta smacking the cross bar in injury time. Milan is the kind of team that if they do turn it around they will be stronger for the tough early going. How can you not struggle for a while after the losing Kaka? Maybe Beckham is the player they need to give them a little bit of a boost. That won’t come until after January though, so it’s up to Ronaldinho for now.

Oguchi Onyewu played for the first time against FC Zurich. He looked tentative and nearly lost the ball in the back on a few occasions. Late in the game, he was up in the attack more than he was in the back. He did show some energy and desire to try to get a goal. However, he didn’t even make the team bench for the Atalanta game. That’s got to be tough, but it can’t be easy to break into a team like AC Milan nor play at that stage. He’s strong though and will earn his place.
