Tim Howard Scores from 100 Yards Away

Howard scores amazing goal. Everton’s Tim Howard clears the soccer ball from his own goal box and after one bounce, and some help from the wind, the ball sails over the Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper’s head. Really, Howard doesn’t cheer or celebrate too much cause he knows as a keeper that freak things happen. Still though, Howard smashes the ball up the field on his first touch and the ball takes a good bounce and it’s over the other keeper’s head.

You’ll also notice Howard is wearing what is becoming maybe his favorite goalkeeping jersey: camouflage. Actually, he’s hard to see and nearly blends in with the green grass. I going to guess this is the only goal Howard ever scored during his time at Everton…

Goalkeepers don’t score very often, so when they do, it’s pretty special! And on 4 January 2012, Tim Howard’s 101-yard clearance bounced its way into the back of the net at the opposite end of Goodison Park. Everton faced Bolton Wanderers on a windy night that will be forever remembered as the night the Blues and USMNT goalkeeper scored – an iconic Premier League moment!
