Federico Valverde celebrates a tackle near the halfway line in the 92nd minute of Uruguay’s 0-0 draw to South Korea in the World Cup. Valverde is exceptionally fast and able to get back and win the ball. Earlier in the game Valverde smashed a shot against the post.
It would be fun to see more of this type of a reaction from defenders when they make big tackles. Tough tackles celebrated like goals. And what’s great about this Valverde tackle is it’s fair. There’s no yellow card. It’s just a hard challenge by Valverde.
Got a lot of time for Valverde’s passion and desire to win the ball… he also once committed one of the all-time great acts of this (on Morata). pic.twitter.com/lPbh7mWd6X

Federico Valverde saved Real Madrid. In the final of the Spanish Super Cup against Atlético Madrid, Valverde violently tackled Morata who was about to pass Courtois in the closing minutes of the game. After the match, Valverde revealed what he told Morata after taking him out.
Valverde has had a tremendous year so far playing for Real Madrid. Hopefully he can scores some goals for Uruguay in this World Cup tournament. Really, he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.
