Training. Training. And more soccer training. That was Sneijder’s words of advice at the end of the video. With more and more practice you’ll eventually develop both power and control with your free kicks. But it takes time and getting comfortable with how you strike the ball.

Sometimes you’ll even just have to develop your own technique and style that fits with how you strike the ball. Maybe you can’t hit the ball with power but prefer to bend the ball.

Real Madrid’s Dutch master and free-kick specialist Wesley Sneijder talks us through his individual technique for striking such lethal free-kicks, assisted by his Nike Total 90 Laser II football boots.
