Trinity Rodman Highest Paid Women’s Soccer Player

Trinity Rodman’s salary: It’s usually the goal scorers in soccer who make the most money playing the game. Which is true for women’s soccer too. Trinity Rodman, yes the daughter of the former basketball player, is now the highest paid women’s player in NWSL history. And she’s just 19 years old to boot. Her new salary is a nice jump from the $42,000 per year she was previously making! I’m guessing this new deal earns her about $281,000 per year.

I’m sure her dad is and should be very proud.

I’m sure Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan make more money with all of their endorsement deals, but if Rodman can have more success in the NWSL and with the United States national team maybe she’ll catch up to them. Rodman’s new contract make me wonder how much Sam Kerr would earn if she came back to the NWSL from Chelsea.

2021 Rookie of the Year presented by Ally: Trinity Rodman, Washington Spirit

From the Washington Post, here are the details on Trinity Rodman’s salary:

And this week, recognizing Rodman’s importance to the team and league, the Washington Spirit tore up her contract and signed her to a four-year deal. It’s worth more than $1.1 million, the richest package in NWSL history, people close to the matter said.

The Spirit, NWSL and her agent, Mike Senkowski, said they did not want to comment on contract details.

When Rodman joined the league, she signed a three-year contract that averaged $42,000 in base salary, plus housing and bonuses — similar to what others in the NWSL were receiving.

The NWSL maximum this season is $75,000, a 43 percent increase following this week’s ratification of the league’s first collective bargaining agreement. Teams, however, are able to use allocation money, provided by the league, to boost some individual salaries.

More on Trinity Rodman’s salary from ESPN – which tops Morgan and Rapinoe’s salaries in the NWSL:

Following this week’s ratification of the league’s first collective bargaining agreement, the NWSL maximum salary was upped to $75,000, a 43% increase, while the minimum salary was increased to $35,000.

Rodman will make a $281,000 base salary annually, which according to Sportico is more than Alex Morgan’s and Megan Rapinoe’s NWSL salaries of $250,000 each.
