Zlatan Ibrahimovic Volley for the LA Galaxy

What can you say about Zlatan Ibrahimovic? He’s a soccer / football legend. Ibrahimovic always pulls off the amazing. Here in his debut for the LA Galaxy he rips this volley from nearly forty yards away. Just a special goal that will go down in MLS history as something quite extraordinaire. No player will score a debut goal like this ever again.

Ibrahimovic scores his first ever MLS goal and then his second in the 90th minute to win the game for the Galaxy, who were down 3-0 at the half. After the game he said he saw the keeper off his line before he took the shot.

“I saw the goal keeper,” Ibrahimovic said at the post game press conference. “He was out. I saw him and I said ‘I will shoot it over,’ but it was all depending how do I shoot. Do I shoot it high to land in the goal or do I shoot in front to put power on it? And I choose the power way, and then it went in.” He also talked about how hot it was for him and he didn’t went to expend too much energy so he thought about shooting it…

“You want to be role model to kids by doing crazy things, and scoring crazy goals. And I did that.” I think young soccer player will perhaps be more willing to try a volley or chip like this after seeing it.

Ibrahimovic has scored on his debuts for Manchester United, Paris St-Germain, Malmo, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Juventus. And now, in the MLS for the LA Galaxy. That’s quite a soccer career for Zlatan, and it’s not over yet.

“I heard the crowd saying ‘We want Zlatan, we want Zlatan’. So I gave them Zlatan. They were pushing me and I was giving back.”

“Thirty, 40, 50, 60 years down the road, you’re going to be talking about the debut of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. … He is worth every single penny and worth every single second he is in Major League Soccer” – Taylor Twellman
